Damn_Rides: Drift Spec Nissan PS13

Posted by nagyB on August 1, 2010 at 2:00 AM

As you can see from the picture above, this post is going to be about a Nissan Silvia J's PS13. From the picture you may think that it's just a show-car. But it's not. It's being used for what it was made for. Drifting. It's a 1992 Nissan Silvia PS13, with an rb26dett engine. The car was built in Japan and it was imported to Hungary in 2009.

Let's start with the engine. As I've mentioned before, it's powered by an RB26DETT, with 2 Garett GT2860R turbos, 256° HKS camshafts, HKS Pulleys, Tomei bearings, 750 ccm injectors, big intercooler, Greddy oil cooler system, and loads of other things ^^. It puts about 380-450 HP to the wheels, depending on the turbo pressure.

It's got a 5 speed gearbox from the RB25DET. About the suspension, Cashiew Coilovers with 10kg/mm springs in the front, Bilstein HD Coilovers with 8kg/mm springs in the back.

The car is running on SSR Strusse rims (F: 9,5x18 ET22 225/35R18, R: 10,0x18 ET6 245/40R18)

Weight saving is one of the most important things in every motorsport. All of the windows are made of Acrylic Glass ( Except front Screen), Vertex FRP wide body kit. (rear overfenders, front vented fenders, bumpers, side skirts, trunk)

I'm in love with this car. It looks great from every angle.

Too bad, that the owner (Zoltán Tóth) wasn't there when I've made the pictures, so I wasn't able to snap a picture from the enginebay. I expected to see the car in action during the Hungarian Drift Championship, but this year, he 's one of the main judges during the events. Maybe there will be a drift event later this year (with only Japanese cars), where I can see this car in action.

Here, you can find some videos of the car, hope you'll enjoy!

(This video was made during the first test runs, the owner still need to get used to this car, after the leightweight , naturally aspirated ae86 ^^)
